Syrian refugees first arrived at the border with Albania.
Greek media suggest that 3 buses with 162 immigrants have arrived today around 18:00 in Konica, 17 km away from the state border with Albania.
A day earlier, the Konica municipal council had decided to welcome Syrian immigrants, who are accommodated in a community center. Konica becomes the first region that hosts Syrian immigrants at the border with Albania.
Buses with Syrian refugees are welcome and are greeted by the mayor, from other local leaders, but also by representatives of the Red Cross. Residents of the area are said to have responded immediately to help with what they could, including food and clothing, as refugees were transferred to community reception center, which will verify their data.
