Kosovo Fund for Open Society (KFOS) and BIRN are the recipients of US funds in Kosovo, according to the Center for American Funds.
According to the center, the support of US funds in Kosovo have enjoyed 63 NGOs.
During the past ten years these have received 11 million dollars. While the main donors are the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Soros Open Society and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
US dollars over the past ten years have arrived in Kosovo 63 non-governmental organizations, while the biggest donor turns out to be the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (4.69 million dollars), the Open Society Fund Soros (2.07 million dollars) and Charles Stewart Mott (1.79 million dollars), writes koha.net.
But according to the Center for American funding of these funds the most money has benefited the Fund Kosovo Open Society (KFOS) – 2:07 million dollars, followed by BIRN Kosovo 1.45 million, and the Forum for the initiative Civic 1.43 million.
Of these funds have benefited the three NGOs operating in the northern part of Mitrovica, which was donated 275 thousand dollars, while 60 other organizations in the rest of Kosovo – 10.75 million dollars.
Only the Rockefeller Brothers Fund in the name of support in 2009 and 2011 has given Kosovo BIRN half a million dollars, while in 2012 the oversight of public services (according to the project – to research articles on this topic) 113 thousand dollars. Another Foundation, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation in 2013 and 2014 BIRN has donated 200 thousand dollars for research work in the judiciary, health and educational institutions, as well as in public procurement organizations and public enterprises. In 2011 this organization (BIRN) received from the Foundation 100 thousand 100 dollars for the filming of TV debates “Life in Kosovo”, some of which are transmitted by Belgrade’s B92 TV.
BIRN has received funding from the National Movement for Democracy (NED).
Civic Forum Initiative Kosovo has received funds from US dollars 1.43 billion, mainly from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. NED has received 90 thousand dollars. Also donations have also received the Institute for Advanced Studies has received 616 thousand dollars, the Foundation for Democratic Initiatives – 475 thousand dollars, and the Initiative for Progress – 299,200 dollars.
The statement of donations presented by the Center for American funding appears that during this period of these funds organizations in Serbia have received 35 million dollars (Serbian media point favoring the US funds of Kosovo versus Serbia, adding that Kosovo is four to five times less residents of Serbia, while the territory is eight times smaller.
On account of NGOs in Montenegro donor funding are poured 4.8 million US dollars.
