Greeks Flock to Work in Albania

Many years ago, Albanians went to work and started a new life in Greece. Today, the unemployed Greeks are going to Albania for the same reason. 

Greeks-work-to-AlbaniaSalaries in Albania, according to the “Greek Reporter” are from 400 to 500 euros per month. Most of them do not have years to find work at home. They are mostly construction workers or Masters. Today, they choose to cross the border and work in Albania for 7 to 20 euros per day.

However, Albania offers the best option as waiter job, which paid up to 40 euros per day in Vlora and Durres, mainly during tourist season summer.

President of the Albanian Association “Illyria” confirmed the Greek magazine “Tahidromos” that is really a migration wave Greeks, who arrive in the summer to work.

He also said that many Albanians are returning to Albania, but not forever. Some see the return as temporary and expect to go back to the Greek crisis in the neighboring country.

An Albanian friend of his, who has a tavern in our country suggested to go to Albania.Without thinking twice, Greek citizen completed the necessary paperwork and visited Albania in September.

Here he began to work as a waiter and earns 35 euros per day. According to his family, he feels pretty good here because as they say, our culture it is quite similar to Greek.
